De Citrusveiling (The Citrus Auction) is a striking building with a worldly history. Fruit from many regions of the world was auctioned here and the exterior and interior are still in virtually original condition. The building at Marconistraat 19-27 was built in 1951 -1955, designed by Hugh Maaskant and Bert van Dommelen and has been a national monument since 2010.
The Port of Rotterdam Authority has organised a competition in 2022 for the redevelopment of the building complex. This procedure resulted in the consortium consisting of Prime Pitch, De Mannen van Schuim, and Miss Clark.
A Prime Pitch fund has formally owned De Citrusveiling since the end of 2023. In collaboration with De Mannen van Schuim and Miss Clark, the building will be redevelopedin phases under the name De Citrus Club, into a vibrant location for conferences, parties, presentations, film, theater, music and more. The space under the impressive auction room will be transformed into a hip restaurant, while space will also be reserved for innovative and creative office spaces.
